These poems are a reaction to the post-911 political atmosphere and to the flies governments everywhere expect their peoples to swallow. Excerpt: "The lion lays down what seems a good law. He has such a fine head, we think we should follow it."

Poems by Elizabeth Robinson. 2007. Edition of 50. 7" x 7". Letterpress printed in Baskerville and Copperplate Gothic Light from photopolymer plates on a Vandercook #4. In writing these poems, the poet says, she "was interested in reclamation of a lost history or geography and how a crumbling, degraded site can open up in surprising ways." The case-bound book features three different types paper made especially to complement the text: earthy banana palm, deep blue linen & translucent flax.

The binding is an original design, which opens to several pages of prose, and further unfolds to reveal two decks of comic cards--one chronicling Heidi's antics and one Jane's.
